Ingredients for making Tilkut
White sesame seeds – 3/4 cup
Jaggery- 3/4 cup
Ghee- 2 tbsp
Cashew – 1/4 cup
How to make Tilkut
To make flavourful Tilkut, first take a pan. Now put the pan on flame and roast the sesame seeds. However, they have to be kept stirring with the help of a ladle. We have to roast sesame seeds until their color becomes light brown. Keep in mind that after roasting properly, the sesame seeds will appear a little puffy. After this, take out the sesame seeds in a dry plate. Now add 1 spoon of ghee in the pan, melt it and break the khoya (mawa) into it and add it well. Now fry it on low flame while stirring with a spoon until it starts turning light pink. When it is roasted well, add sugar powder in it and mix it while stirring with a spoon until the sugar and khoya melt and mix well.

Now add roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder and mix well. Cook on medium flame for at least two minutes while stirring continuously with a spoon. Now turn off the flame and let this mixture cool down a little. Now apply ghee in a plate and grease it. After this, pour the slightly cooled mixture in a plate and spread it well. If you want, apply some ghee on the rolling pin and roll the mixture gently so that it becomes uniform.
